Description Leidos Defense System's Test & Instrumentation and Lethal Mechanisms Group has an opening for
a Deputy Program Manager (DPM). The DPM will collaborate with and assist the Program Manager with program execution and will assume the role of Program Manager in their absence. This role entails planning, organizing, securing, and efficiently managing resources to achieve the successful fulfillment of program goals and objectives. The DPM responsibilities encompass assisting the Program Manager to ensure program adherence to scope, schedule, and budget constraints, overseeing daily operations, communicating with support personnel to obtain status updates, and reporting as well as interfacing with Sr. Leadership and other functional leaders.
Primary Responsibilities- Support programmatic responsibility (cost, schedule, performance) for the execution of assigned projects/programs.
- Support managing the cost of the project, ensure proper staffing to execute the project, and operate within the budget.
- Disclose known program issues and escalate as necessary.
- Build and maintain a trusted relationship with Customers.
- Deliver consistent performance to meet or exceed all contractual requirements and to meet or exceed customer expectations while also managing customer expectations.
- Work with the PM to coordinate, document, and communicate program status to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support management of work authorizations, track charging time against plan.
- Support management in identification of risks, resolution and verification of effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Assist PM with Bid no Bids (BNB), Basis of Estimates (BOE), and Bid Acceptance Reviews (BAR).

Basic Qualifications- Bachelor degree in business or related discipline and 4 - 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of educational requirement 10 years of relevant experience, training, and/or PMI certification.
- Working knowledge of DoD programs and deep understanding of industry practices and standards.
- Knowledgeable in program management methodology and techniques.
- Qualified applicant will possess excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must be a resident of North Huntsville, AL or being willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.
Preferred Qualifications- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)

Pay Range: Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
