The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for providing a wide range of HR services to client groups within the Global R&D and Manufacturing Excellence teams. This role reports to the Director of HR for Global R&D and Manufacturing Excellence and will be based in the Novelis offices in Buckhead and Kennesaw in the Atlanta area.
The selected candidate will need to be able to travel to both the Atlanta and Kennesaw location weekly. The key responsibilities of this role include day-to-day support to client groups, managers and employees, including organization planning and design, compensation, partnering in recruitment and selection, employee relations, change management and talent management practices.
The HRBP is responsible for driving key strategic HR initiatives within assigned client groups, by partnering effectively and building trust with leaders and employees.
A successful HRBP will be a leader that lives the Novelis Culture Beliefs: Say Anything, Be Open, Build Trust, Be Authentic, and act as an employee champion and change agent who can quickly build trust of both managers and employees. The HRBP assesses and anticipates HR-related trends, needs and communicates to business leaders proactively, solutioning on all people related topics, and leveraging the HR model and partnership with HR COEs.
In addition, this role will identify opportunities for process improvement within HR practices, research best practice solutions, recommend actions and implement initiatives and associated change management, as well as participate and/or lead other special projects as identified.
The successful candidate for this role is someone proactive, driven, with the ability to lead and work independently, and who thrives in complex and fast paced environments that require agility, strategic thinking and execution.
Responsibilities:- Coach leaders: provide guidance and coaching to business leaders on a variety of employee related issues and situations.
- Day-to-day support to client groups: provide support to employees and managers for timely completion of HR processes.
- Talent management: drive talent management initiatives in partnership with Talent Management/Learning COEs, in support of employee development and engagement across client groups.
- Compensation: this position will need to make decisions and recommendations that balance the needs of the employee and objectives of the Company, as well as work on internal compensation requirements (i.e. job evaluation, etc.)
- Employee relations: lead confidently and independently employee relations issues and partner with leaders and employees as needed.
- Talent Acquisition: responsible for partnering with Talent Acquisition COE to acquire the best talent for Novelis. The HRBP is engaged in the hiring practices, partnering and coaching leaders, and working closely with TA on all openings in client groups.
- Lead special HR projects: this role will work closely with the HR director to lead special projects across Global R&D and Manufacturing Excellence. These projects will be global in scope and require a senior and experienced HR professional able to navigate a matrix organization, build trust and work proactively with a wide variety of stakeholders. Project management experience is valuable.
- HR critical and analytical thinking: this role is expected to be proactive in understand the business, the client groups, and identifying trends, developing solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive human resources experience (ideally in both COE and HRBP roles).
- Strong Change Management experience, creating and executing HR plans, and working with leaders across a variety of client groups
- Experience with project management practices, coaching leaders, problem solving and execution in a high pace environment.
- Self-motivation to get results and complete tasks independently
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to communicate with all levels in the organization clearly and concisely
- Must be able to organize and prioritize workload and balance multiple tasks at once without sacrificing attention to detail.
- Solid or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software: excel and PowerPoint.
Additional qualifications: - Experience supporting teams across various regions, countries, locations.
- HR Certifications (SPHR, etc.).
- Experience leading and influencing formally and informally teams.
- Experience with analytics tools and reporting in order to assess state of organization
- Ability to create HR Business project plans, change management plans, and leverage analytics and research for business valuable solutions.
- Experience with HR systems (HRIS, iCIMS, etc.)
