Structural Engineer to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team, providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center.
This position is located in the Fort Worth, TX area.- 25% Telework
- 25% to 35% Travel Estimate
Structural Engineer Primary Responsibilities:Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center, for accomplishment of project engineering packages:
- Develop site specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance.
- Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all (state, local, federal, FAA, etc.) standards, construction codes and ordinances.
- Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during the site survey.
- Prepare summary trip reports within two working days of trip completion.
Compile and complete project documents as follow:Scope of work and project transmittal.
Drawing and specification lists.
Operational Risk Management checklists.
Furnish information required for the preparation of Purchase Requests (PR) for assigned projects.
Furnish information required for the preparation of NAS Change Proposals (NCP) for assigned projects.
List of Government furnished properties.
Prepare Airspace case documents.
Assessment of engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program Project checklists.
Drawings and specifications.
Engineering cost estimate for project plans per FAA Standard/guidelines.
Estimated completion time and project schedule.
Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (i.e. evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents).
Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI) on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.
Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.
Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.
Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.
Structural Engineer Required Qualifications:- Civil Engineering Degree (B.S.) OR similar. Minimum 4 years with Structural Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects. OR a Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability ( To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder OR working in the USA with a temporary protected status (TPS) visa who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with No breaks OR leaving the country. One must be able to show documentation of proof once asked by security or the FAA.
Structural Engineer Preferred Qualifications:- Proficiency in AUTOCAD.
- Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.
Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $100,000 to $110,000 with a slight wiggle room to go up based on relevant experience and assessment. Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
