Join the Cybersecurity Engineering team as a Linux Engineer, operating in a 24x7x365 environment to support enterprise IT operations and network security. This role involves collaboration with customers and internal teams to resolve service requests, monitor system performance, and implement secure solutions. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting, with exceptional communication and technical skills.
Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Linux Engineer: $100,000 to $125,000
Pay commensurate with experience.
Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Linux Engineer Responsibilities Include: - Monitor and maintain network hardware, applications, and server infrastructure.
- Execute system upgrades, patching, and configuration for Linux/Unix environments.
- Resolve software and hardware issues to ensure stable system performance.
- Develop and integrate secure architectures, applications, and networks.
- Conduct forensic analysis and triage for server-related incidents.
- Perform account management tasks, including user account creation and deletion.
- Collaborate with team members to integrate Microsoft Windows services with Linux/Unix systems.
- Observe industry standards and best practices for cybersecurity.
- Conduct root cause analysis for incident prevention and resolution.
- Stay current with certifications and industry advancements.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Linux Engineer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 4 years of professional IT experience.
- 8+ years of enterprise IT experience.
- Proficiency in Linux administration, scripting, and Ansible Automation.
- Expertise with Red Hat (RHEL7/8), Apache configuration, and security analysis.
- Experience with IDS/IPS, firewalls, log analysis, and malware detection.
- Knowledge of Splunk, Nutanix, VMWare, Kerberos, SSL, and DNS preferred.
- Experience with Nagios, RSYSLOG, Satellite Server, and Git/Bitbucket preferred.
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
