Description The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is currently pursuing an opportunity for a Scrum Master to work in Multiple Locations . This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Enterprise Development, Application, and Training (EDAT) mission. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across USSOCOM's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of Special Operations Forces (SOF) in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Key tasks include program management, application development, training support, and technology integration to maintain USSOCOM's operational edge. The EDAT program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring SOF professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.
Locations: These positions will be onsite. Candidates need to be located near Tampa, FL, San Diego, CA, and Fayetteville, NC to be considered.
Primary Responsibilities.- Act as a servant-leader to Agile teams by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Guide teams in implementing Agile practices to improve productivity, collaboration, and delivery of program objectives.
- Support Agile teams in understanding and practicing Agile principles, ensuring adherence to Scrum framework processes.
- Mentor team members on Agile roles, responsibilities, and deliverables to foster self-organization and continuous improvement.
- Identify and remove impediments to ensure the team can meet its sprint and program goals.
- Escalate issues and risks that require attention from senior leadership or external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with product owners, program managers, and technical leads to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and priorities.
- Foster communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and other Scrum Masters to ensure alignment across projects.
- Track team performance metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) and provide regular progress updates to program leadership.
- Use data to identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance team performance.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by facilitating retrospectives and ensuring actionable feedback is implemented.
- Drive adoption of Agile best practices tailored to the needs of the EDAT program and USSOCOM's operational environment.
Basic Qualifications.- Typically requires a BA degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 - 6 years of prior relevant experience.
- Must possess a Top Secret (TS) clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
- Equivalent experience or military training in project management or Agile methodologies may be considered.
- 4-8 years of experience in a Scrum Master or related role in an Agile environment.
- Proven ability to support Agile teams in delivering software, infrastructure, or enterprise solutions.
- Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Basic understanding of software development and IT operations to facilitate technical team discussions.
- Familiarity with DoD processes and compliance standards is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative environment and build trust among team members.
Preferred Qualifications.- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Additional certifications such as SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or PMI-Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) are advantageous.
- Familiarity with DoD or government project environments, especially within USSOCOM or similar operational contexts.
- Experience working in Agile teams delivering mission-critical solutions under strict compliance standards.
- Experience applying Agile principles in complex, high-security environments or hybrid project models.
- Proven ability to resolve conflicts, manage team dynamics, and drive decision-making in challenging situations.
- Strong analytical skills to assess team performance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Understanding of the EDAT program's mission to deliver enterprise-level solutions, emerging technologies, and secure systems for USSOCOM.
