The Payroll Specialist will be expected to process multi-state payroll for a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and should feel comfortable working in a fast moving, rapidly evolving business while managing multiple competing priorities. The successful candidate will be strong at developing relationships and leveraging data to make quick and well-informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll and ensure that all employees across the firm are paid on time and accurately and that all taxes are appropriately paid across to local authorities. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining and reviewing payroll processing systems to ensure accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, loans, taxes, and other deductions.
- Responsible for maintaining payroll records within data systems according to regulatory compliance.
- Partner with Accounting/ Finance and Human Resources for yearly audits by providing records and documentation to auditors/team liaisons.
- Instill a customer service approach to payroll and provide assistance to employees.
- Other duties as may be assigned or required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years working in a payroll environment with a significant period of these years processing payroll in a large-scale, multi-state environment.
- Workday Payroll experience is preferred, but not required.
- Some ADP experience is desirable.
- Must have strong multistate tax and payroll compliance experience.
- Must have very strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- BA/BS in Finance, Accounting or a related major – Preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must have the ability to collaborate with numerous cross functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic multinational environment.
- Must have the ability to maintain highly confidential information.
- Excellent problem solving abilities.
- Proficient in excel with experience creating spreadsheets and analyzing files.
The base annual pay range for this role is between $75,000-$85,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
