Job DescriptionThe Communications Manager is responsible for implementing a coordinated external public relations campaign and a comprehensive internal communications program in support of the objectives of ABS. Responsible for implementing external marketing communications activities for the worldwide offshore, energy (including gas transportation), and naval activities in support of ABS business objectives.
What You Will Do: - Develop and implement strategic communications plans for ABS.
- Prepare and track operating budgets supportive of these functions.
- Establish relations with key personnel in appropriate trade media and to prepare and distribute press releases and place editorial articles within the trade press.
- Organizing and preparing press conferences and related press packages.
- Prepare all collateral press-related material, in print and electronic media, in support of new product launches.
- Contribute appropriate content to the ABS internal and external websites.
- Responsible to produce video and other electronic media presentations which are relevant to the activities of ABS.
- To provide input relative to the content of brochures and other marketing material which address the corporate image of ABS.
- Contribute editorial content to ABS newsletters and magazines.
- Establish and maintain a close working relationship with selected contract providers of marketing and communications-related services.
- Stay actively informed of the public relations initiatives of principal competitors.
What You Will Need:Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines.
- Previous extensive experience in either public relations or journalism with managerial or supervisory responsibilities is essential.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Good working knowledge of MS-Office.
- Strong interpersonal and team skills.
- Must be able to assume a high level of individual responsibility.
- Professional creativity and flexibility are essential.
- Familiarity with one or more of the marine, offshore, engineering or quality sectors is advantageous.
- Ability to develop a working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the ABS Employee Safety Policy.
Reporting Relationships:Reports directly to Director, Strategic Marketing.
