Responsibilities Your Daily Life at Bethesda Game Studios As
Senior Lighting Artist, you will...
- Work with the lead to create compelling lighting for a variety of characters and environments while maintaining a consistent style
- Work with Lead Lighting Artist to ensure creative requirements of a project are met.
- Work with Art and Design to create compelling and dramatic lighting scenarios for gameplay and cinematics
- Maintain a balance between visual quality and performance requirements.
- Match the established visual style for the game with lighting execution.
- Work with lead to develop and implement new techniques into the lighting pipeline.
- Troubleshooting issues that arise in a timely manner.
- Work with other lighting artists and ensure help is given when needed.
Qualifications What Makes You S.P.E.C.I.A.L. - You have at least 5 years of experience as a lighter in games, VFX, or film
- You have a working knowledge of modern lighting techniques, technical art, and performance pipelines
- You are self-motivated and able to work and solve problems with minimal assistance
- You are highly organized with the ability to adhere to production schedules
- You have well-developed communication skills and a strong work ethic
- You possess excellent problem-solving skills
- You have an experienced and honed creative eye
- You appreciate the value of strong team dynamics and have a positive morale-generating style
- You have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- You have an impressive lighting portfolio showcasing a beautiful mix of visual and technical skills
- You demonstrate an understanding of contemporary lighting and surfacing methodologies, including physically based rendering tools, exposure settings, shaders, and materials
- You have an intuitive understanding of lighting fundamentals, mood, composition, color theory, space, material, and light
- You are proficient with post-process toolsets to enhance look and feel
- You are able to deliver and receive feedback in a productive and accountable manner
You must submit an online portfolio. Preferred Skills Bonus Skills - You have experience working with Creation Kit (Starfield, Fallout 4)
- You have training in traditional art mediums (painting, sculpting, etc.)
- You have experience with lighting using a Physically Based Renderer
Salary Range Senior Lighting Artist - The typical base pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $75,000 - $165,000 per year.
ZeniMax has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.
