Are you ready to challenge the expected to deliver the extraordinary? The Director Payroll will oversee the payroll team operations across multiple companies and states. Must be experienced in high volume, multi-state payroll with a knowledge of payroll regulatory compliance. Fast-paced environment with continuous growth, so change management will be necessary. Evaluation for continuous improvement in processes/procedures to ensure both efficiency and accuracy.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Payroll Department. This includes, but not limited to, processing payrolls across multiple FEIN companies, reviewing/balancing of the payrolls to ensure accuracy, and coordinating across all segments of the organization in relation to Payroll.
ResponsibilitiesThe Journeys and Adventures that Await:- Oversee the planning and execution of all payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance. (50%)
- Audit pay records and reconciles totals every payroll.
- Prepare various special calculations such as terminations, new hires, salary changes, etc.
- Prepare requested data for various internal and external audits such as Payroll, System, Worker's Compensation, Federal, State and Local Tax Agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations related to payroll.
- Provide support to department wide or company-wide special projects and additional responsibilities (Benefits, Open Enrollment, Service Awards, etc.) (25%)
- Provide continuous improvements to the payroll department (15%)
- Assess processes/procedures that can be improved upon
- Manage change effectively based on continuous growth
- Provide on-demand payroll reports across various segments of the organization (10%)
- Build and maintain various reports based on need
QualificationsThe Experiences You Bring:- Experience with full payroll cycle processing required
- Proficient with establishing multi-state payroll and knowledge of tax regulations
- Strong Microsoft Excel skillset (Pivot table/V-Lookup)
- Workday experience
- Experience managing team processing payrolls across multiple FEIN/states
- Knowlegeable in tax, garnishment and other government regulations as they apply to payroll processing
- Healthcare experience preferred
