Manages the daily operations of Materials Management department.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing functions, warehousing, inventory control, receiving, and supply distribution of materials, forms, mail, supplies, and equipment for hospital use.
- Manages the flow of supplies, products, and services from source to point of use.
- Oversees the interviewing and negotiating with sales representatives.
- Manages the development of Requests for Proposals (RFP's) bids and quotations.
- Manages the review and analysis of Group Purchasing contracts and ensures compliance, financial accounting, and product standardization.
- Assists with developing specific departmental goals, standards, and objectives which directly support the strategic plan and vision of the organization.
- Manages staff relations including performance management, staff satisfaction, and conflict management.
- Performs and manages scheduling, recruitment, and payroll.
- Monitors department budgets, regulatory compliance, department contracts, and vendor relations.
- Supports special projects and business analysis as requested.
- Collaborates with other departments to evaluate service levels and to identify potential process improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration required upon hire OR
- Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- A minimum of 4 years' relevant experience required
- No licensure/certification/registration required
