Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and strategic Payroll Manager to lead the selection, implementation, and ongoing operation of global payroll systems across multiple regions, including the North America, UK, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia. Based in Houston, the Payroll Manager will play a pivotal role in identifying and partnering with a global payroll provider, ensuring the successful integration of payroll operations, and ensuring compliance with local regulations in each country. This role will also be responsible for ongoing payroll processing and reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to all applicable payroll laws.
Key Responsibilities:- Global Payroll Provider Selection:
- Lead the process to evaluate, select, and onboard a global payroll provider that can support multi-country payroll operations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as Finance, HR, and IT, to assess requirements and ensure the provider meets operational needs across all regions.
- Payroll Implementation:
- Lead the implementation, integration, and optimization of global payroll systems and tools in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia.
- Collaborate with local HR and finance teams to gather data, ensure system readiness, and customize payroll processes for each region.
- Work with external vendors and internal teams to ensure seamless integration of payroll with other systems (e.g., HRIS, ERP).
- Payroll Operations Management:
- Oversee and ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees in all regions.
- Ensure payroll compliance with local and international laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Implement and maintain payroll processes and controls to ensure accuracy and compliance in all payroll-related functions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related matters globally, addressing and resolving inquiries, discrepancies, or issues as needed.
- Process Optimization:
- Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and best practices across all regions.
- Continuously monitor payroll operations and work to improve efficiency, accuracy, and employee satisfaction.
- Provide ongoing support for payroll system upgrades and changes, including testing and implementation of new functionalities.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure payroll compliance with applicable laws and regulations in each region, including tax, benefits, and labor regulations.
- Prepare and submit all required payroll-related reports to government authorities.
- Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and industry best practices to ensure the company remains compliant globally.
- Manage internal and external audits related to payroll, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Collaboration and Leadership:
- Manage and mentor HR payroll team members.
- Provide leadership and training to finance and HR teams on payroll processes and systems.
- Build strong relationships with external payroll providers, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies in each region.
Qualifications and Skills:- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll management, with at least 2-3 years managing global/multi-country payroll.
- Proven experience in selecting and implementing global payroll systems across multiple countries.
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance requirements in the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand, and Australia.
- Experience working with payroll software and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday, SAP, etc.).
Skills & Abilities:- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with international teams.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with a commitment to accuracy and process improvement.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
Additional Information:This position is based in Houston, Texas, and may require occasional travel to the regions managed as needed to ensure effective implementation of payroll processes and compliance.
