The Lead Buyer, Sourcing Operations, SES Procurement role is directly supporting day-to-day operations of aviation and security detection purchasing for the Security Enterprise Solutions Business Area. Works to achieve day-to-day objectives with major impacts on SES Purchasing Team success. Makes significant improvements across multiple areas and customer / product programs contributing to successful execution of purchasing to ensure products are delivered on time and represent the best value for Leidos and its customers, in support of production and services/spares missions. Assists with supplier communications, procurement reviews, negotiations of terms and conditions, and program procurement coordination activities for aviation and security detection components / commodity categories. Some knowledge of FAR and DFAR and other federal procurement regulations is desired. Responsible for day-to-day supporting of team members, and work assignments for the Purchasing function. Assists with employee training and growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Supplier contract negotiation and administration; supplier communication, sourcing, and driving cost savings.
May provide feedback in support of supplier relationship management; regulatory compliance, and risk management activities to support buying team and supply chain goals.
Communicates with stakeholders across the organization to ensure customer and program requirements are met through the procurement process.
Requires ability to collaborate cross-functionally regarding policies, practices and procedures.
Provides various support activities.
Supports and reviews the work of professional buyers and assists the team as needed.
Requires practical knowledge in l execution of processes, projects and tactics within SES Purchasing product area.
Develops or reviews prime contract flowdown documents to ensure compliance with prime contract requirements and to minimize company liability.
Support internal/external audit activities, including Purchase Order file reviews, as well as, data request from internal / external customers.
Focus on development and training of staff.
Basic Qualifications
Typically requires a BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years or prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations. Must have experience with all contract types and experience working with FAR/DFAR
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge in government contracts, municipal, and commercial contracts preferred.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Must have the interpersonal skills to work effectively with others within the team and collaborate cross-functionally.
Preferred Qualifications
CostPoint experience preferred.
Experience negotiating terms and conditions or license agreements preferred.
Knowledge of manufacturing and configuration controlled products

Pay Range: Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00
