Job Description
Via Elegante Assisted Living and Memory Care is the premier provider of Assisted Living and Memory Care services in Southern Arizona. Family-owned and operated since 2003, Via Elegante is a growing company of healthcare professionals who enjoy working in a supportive and challenging environment. At Via Elegante, we cultivate a positive and professional culture for both our residents and our team. As we prepare for rapid growth, we seek a dynamic HR leader to join us as Regional Director of Human Resources, who can be both a strategic leader and a hands-on executor, to help strengthen our people processes and drive our teams to provide exceptional resident care.

In the coming year, we plan to implement a new HRIS system and transition from a Professional Employer Organization (PEO) model to a fully in-house platform for managing benefits, employee scheduling, and overall employee management. We are also preparing for significant growth and prefer candidates with a proven track record in handling the HR complexities associated with opening new facilities, acquiring existing ones, or merging with other entities.

Key Responsibilities:

HRIS Implementation and Transition from PEO Model:
  • Lead the company-wide implementation of a new Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to streamline payroll, benefits administration, and overall employee management.
  • Manage the transition from a PEO model to an in-house payroll and benefits platform, ensuring smooth integration of all systems and processes.
  • Provide training to leadership and employees on the new HRIS system, focusing on optimizing usage and improving efficiency across the organization.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding of benefits, overseeing vendor relationships during the transition phase.

Strategic Leadership and Hands-On Execution:
  • Balance being a strategic leader and a hands-on HR professional by both setting the long-term vision and getting involved in the daily operations when needed.
  • Lead HR strategy while also rolling up your sleeves to execute initiatives directly, especially during times of change, growth, and system transitions.
  • Identify high-level opportunities for improvement but also take ownership of implementing solutions, driving both strategy and execution at the ground level.

Rapid Growth and Change Management:
  • Play a key role in integrating new employees, systems, and processes during periods of rapid growth, ensuring a smooth transition and cultural alignment.
  • Lead efforts to scale HR operations to meet the needs of a rapidly growing company, including workforce planning, compliance, and HR infrastructure.
  • Analyze HR needs for expansion and develop strategic initiatives to support growth across multiple locations.

Employee Relations and Satisfaction:
  • Foster a positive and professional work environment, upholding Via Elegante's culture and values.
  • Lead HR projects for increased efficiency and employee satisfaction.
  • Address employee concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Actively communicate and train team members on company culture.
  • Lead or assist with investigations as needed.

Workforce Management:
  • Work with community Executive Directors to understand hiring and staffing needs.
  • Ensure appropriate coverage and staffing for all locations, with a 24/7 workforce.
  • Track and improve hiring key performance indicators.
  • Manage others, delegate responsibility, and provide support.

Compliance and Leadership:
  • Oversee all HR operations to ensure they align with the company's goals for growth and compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies that adhere to state and federal regulations, especially within the senior care industry.
  • Act as a strategic HR partner to executive leadership, advising on workforce planning, organizational structure, and employee-related matters while also directly implementing necessary HR operational changes.

Recruiting, Hiring, and Onboarding:
  • Oversee open positions.
  • Craft and execute recruiting strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Ensure equitable and fair hiring practices.
  • Manage and oversee the company's onboarding and training processes.

Regulatory Compliance and Training:
  • Stay updated on state and federal regulations within the senior care industry.
  • Stay informed on employment legislation.
  • Develop and implement effective training plans.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Respond, coordinate, and oversee workers' compensation claims and employee benefits.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certifications preferred, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP).
  • 8-10 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in an HR Director or senior leadership role.
  • Proven experience with HRIS implementation and transitioning from a PEO model to in-house HR systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR as both a strategic and operational leader in high-growth environments, including scaling processes and teams, preferably through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), with experience in HR due diligence and integration planning.
  • Experience working with a 24/7 workforce, preferably in healthcare, senior care, or hospitality industries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Programs.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Amazing interpersonal communication skills across all levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits:
  • Salary Range: $120,000 - $130,000 annually, based on experience
  • Paid Holidays, PTO
  • Medical, vision, and dental insurance
  • Short/Long term Disability, Basic Life, Voluntary Life and AD&D insurance plans
  • Health Spending Account(HSA) Option
  • Legal Shield & Identity Theft
  • 401k Plan
