Travel: Approximately 25% of time
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for supporting people activities and initiatives associated with an assigned region of the organization, acting as a partner with the leadership team to provide comprehensive and integrated HR support. The HRBP serves as a consultant on people-related issues seeking to align employees and management with company priorities and business objectives. Perform advanced Human Resources related duties in compliance with government regulations and company policy in functional areas which may include employee development, recruiting, employee relations, communications, compensation, employee benefits, training and employment.
Responsibilities:- Perform as an internal business partner to employees and management. Conduct regular meetings with management. Analyze and provide counsel on methods and approaches to resolve employee work issues and concerns.
- Lead and provide counsel regarding complex and sensitive employee situations and complaints in union and non-union environments.
- Provide advice, training and direction to management regarding appropriate completion and delivery of coaching or corrective action.
- Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations including EEOC, harassment and other operational investigations.
- Support development of terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
- Review terminations with management for consistent use of policies, risk evaluation and legal concerns before management terminates an employee.
- Provide regular performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Identify and support training and development needs for teams and individual team members.
- Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements related to day to day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring compliance. Partner with legal team as appropriate.
- Responsible for accurate administration, communication and general compliance with Human Resources related laws, company initiatives and practices.
- Perform other job related duties and special projects as required.
Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience; Course(s) of Study: Human Resources or related field.
Experience: 6-9 years
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have experience communicating with employees on all levels and professional and articulate presentation skills. Must have successful track record of finding solutions and building and maintaining positive relationships with employees, management and external partners. Must be a proven leader who has earned respect and delivered results. Must instill confidence with knowledge and experience. Requires experience or willingness to learn operational and industry issues and challenges. Extensive knowledge of software applications used in the Human Resources function including Microsoft Office products.
- Related Human Resources experience with an emphasis on employee/labor relations, professional certification, (HR related law PHR or SPHR, CEBS).
