SummaryASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Production Manager for ASM Global Jacksonville. The Production Manager will report to the Building Director and will play a critical role in overseeing all production requirements for the building. This position will be responsible for collaborating with building staff and promoters to advanced events, concerts and performances. This also includes managing back of house requirements, scheduling crew, producing labor estimates, producing seating maps and other event related drawings. This position will also maintain all building technical equipment within the venue and will work building staff to ensure that all events run smoothly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Is responsible for the technical success of all events at the Arena and Ballpark City of Jacksonville events. We have around 100 to 120 events per year
- Coordinate with licensee, event promoter or tenant for all pre-performance technical requirements
- Oversee load-ins, set ups, show runs and strikes for all shows and events at the Arena and Ballpark, and facilitate as necessary in other ASM Jacksonville facilities
- Examples: national concert tours, arena sporting events, basketball, ice hockey, arena football, stadium style concerts and events, civic events, Broadway shows, symphony performances, convention center events and shows
- Coordinate all backstage technical needs for shows with local IASTE Stage Employees Union business representative
- Manage and meet internal and external deadlines to ensure adherence to budgets from initial cost estimate throughout the production timeline
- Review, plan and manage changeover costs for event billing and labor analysis
- Process production vendor charges through purchasing system, work with Accounts Payable on all production expenses weekly
- Prepare and coordinate with the event manager all "back of house" event information
- Coordinate "front of house" details for specified events
- Work closely with and coordinate with Facility, Event and Technology Managers to ensure that daily needs and event needs for the facility are met, as well as ensuring all events, setups, and tear downs run smoothly
- Inspect conversions, construction and installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications
- Prepare the event estimate and update the client and event file with changes in the estimate
- Process all payroll for IATSE Stage Employees
- Maintain payroll sheets, forms, and new hire paperwork with payroll and HR
- Help process new hires and journeymen paperwork with HR
- Attend staff meetings. Develop and maintain a harmonious working relationship with staff and other departments
- Supervise and schedule all required preventative maintenance for all house production equipment to include, house lighting, audio systems and other backstage equipment
- Understand and interpret IATSE contracts, agreements, work rules and wages
- Review contracts, speak with tenants and work with sub-contractors to determine special requirements
- Assist in Union negotiations
- Provide for the training, safe working conditions and welfare of employees in accordance with ASM policies, union guidelines and applicable EEO and OSHA regulations
- Conduct frequent facility inspections and note deficiencies and supervise necessary action plans for remediation
- Assist with research and recommend equipment, tools, materials and supplies to fulfill needs of the department
- Recommend and assist in capital purchases or improvements to Director
- Assist with special projects at and around the facilities
- Draft concert and event AutoCAD drawings for the box office and other building needs
- Responsible for venue building plans
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (ASM Maintenance) including comprehensive preventative maintenance system for facility
- Serve as Event Manager on Duty as required
- All other duties as assigned

- Live event, concert, theatre rigging knowledge, involving all aspects of production rigging, ability to review event rigging plans, complete basic weight calculations, work with building structural engineer on loading plans and other approvals
- Must be able to prepare, analyze and operate within Department Budget
- Highly proficient in AutoCAD drawing programs and Adobe Acrobat programs as required for event seating diagrams and other projects at the facility preferred
- Highly proficient in Microsoft suite programs, Word, Excel, Outlook and OneDrive. Mobile devices such as cell phones, laptops and tablets.
- Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (ASM Maintenance)
- Building Automation Systems programs are a plus
- Familiar with terminology and procedures in the Sports and Entertainment industry
- FLA Class E Driver's License is required prior to appointment & must be maintained
- Ability to operate motor vehicles with gross vehicle weight ratings of 26,000 pounds or more such as bucket trucks
Education and/or Experience - 4-year degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Theatre, Theatre Production or Event Management with technical emphasis or professional equivalence
- 3-year minimum experience working in a performing arts center/theater/arenas/touring/event production required
- Knowledge of operations, maintenance and stage management
- Working knowledge of applicable OSHA, state and other work environment and safety regulations
- Working knowledge of fire and public safety systems
- Prior supervisor/managerial experience
