Position Overview:Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers to develop comprehensive solutions that meet project goals and enhance building performance. Works closely with the Project Managers (PM) or Senior Engineers for technical review and guidance.
Technical Responsibilities:- Design and Documentation: Create essential deliverables, including calculations, drawings, and specifications, adhering to the firm's quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) process. Develop comprehensive mechanical system designs, calculating heating and cooling loads with precision.
- Equipment Selection and Layout: Choose and position mechanical equipment such as pumps, chillers, fans, and boilers, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Project Specifications: Develop detailed project specifications to guide successful implementation.
- Field Support: Evaluate field conditions as necessary to facilitate project development and completion.
- Energy Efficiency Enhancement: Apply advanced energy modeling techniques to optimize HVAC systems for energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Code and Standards Compliance: Ensure designs adhere to relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations, ensuring safety and compliance.
General Responsibilities:- Collaboration and Client Engagement: Attend meetings with architects, owners, and building managers to discuss current and future projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to meet project goals and client objectives.
- Mentorship and Training: Support junior team members through training and mentorship, enhancing the firm's human resource efforts.
- Continuous Learning: Stay updated through educational opportunities, professional publications, and technical organizations. Obtain certifications in your area of expertise and actively participate in the firm's Technical Committee as requested.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned to contribute to the firm's overall success.
Qualifications:- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 4-9 years of MEP design experience preferred.
- Certifications: Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) certification is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC load calculations.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to ensure accurate and compliant design documentation.
- Time Management: Excellent time management skills, capable of handling multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment.
