We are looking for an energetic, self-starting, organized, detail-oriented candidate with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment to join our team.Job DescriptionThe Department of Defense (DOD), Office of Inspector General (OIG), established in 1982 by the Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, DOD OIG is an independent, agency that conducts oversight and identifies, deters, and detects fraud, waste, and abuse in DOD operations and programs. The investigative arm of the DOD OIG is the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) that works closely with law enforcement agencies to conduct criminal investigations of matters critical to DOD property, programs, and operations with an emphasis on life, safety, and readiness. The importance of the DOD OIG oversight work is signified by the enormity of the Department's mission, the numerous assets that DOD utilizes to accomplish its mission, the magnitude of the $600 billion budget, and the over 3 million personnel who are part of the DOD family. The DOD OIG's oversight work balances the needs and requests of both the DOD and Congress. The purpose of this contract effort is intended to acquire various levels of support to assist each of the components accomplish prospective activities. The ISN DoD OIG IT Contract Support Services Digital Media Manager, will assist with developing strategies for web-based information dissemination and social media engagement activities, recommend improvements to existing internal and external websites and pages to more broadly and effectively appeal to targeted audiences and stakeholders, and improve customer usability experiences. The following tasks are not all inclusive but will be included in the total solution for meeting the needs of the objective: Task 1: Write, edit, monitor, and maintain online content including, but not limited to: blogs, articles, releases, summaries, tweets, and other written content to inform and educate all stakeholder groups. This may require periodic content updates on the OIG Internet and Intranet sites. Task 2: Research current "new media" trends to identify creative web-based Internet programs, such as blogs, pod-cast, video-casts, or any other multimedia and social media tools. Task 3: Manage the OIG's social media accounts to deliver information and messages to actively engage internal and external stakeholders and improve the OIG's social media activities. Task 4: Assist with the design, development, and maintenance of social/new/multi-media and activities for assigned projects and contribute to web/social media product development in support of overarching communication and information dissemination strategies. Task 5: Track and analyze internal and external website and social media statistics using standard Internet analytic tools. Provide analytics of website tracking content to help shape future online content and improve audience interaction with content Task 6: Liaise with Web Communications Specialist to assist with updating identified 508 compliance issues.
Qualifications+7 years of experience in overseeing the task areas described.
Bachelors degree. Masters degree preferred.
