JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: - Transport food waste in a safe and environmentally sound manner to and from customer sites in and around the St. Louis MO area to the Broadway facility
- Drive assigned route, which may or may not include changes, to client locations in a timely manner on a daily basis, including, but not limited to: fulfilling client service stops, picking up and dropping off food totes, servicing totes at client locations, and performing customer service at client locations
- Load and unload multiple food waste totes and tea totes at a time, all by hand
- Follow dispatch invoice for materials, directions to job site and any special instructions, following them in detail
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and immediately report any concerns or problems
- Operate box truck, roll-off, tandem dump, rendering truck, and other CDL-B vehicles according to state and federal laws and observing all safety regulations established by the company and DOT
- Take direction from dispatching and the Sustainability Coordinator regarding daily duties, schedule updates, additions, cancellations and other changes to route assignment
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor, dispatcher and Sustainability Coordinator
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS: - Possess a current Class B CDL in good standing with no restrictions, and current DOT medical card
- At least 1 year of experience or training of route driving
- At least 1 year of experience or training of any of the following type of experience in a CDL-B vehicle or higher: box truck, tandem, roll-off, and dump truck
- Clean MVR with no DUIs, no major violations, and no more than a combo of 3 at-fault accidents or violations in the past 3 years
- Must have air brake endorsement
- Must be able to pass an extensive DOT drug screening, which includes urine, breath alcohol, and invasive hair follicle testing
- Must be willing to work Saturdays and Sundays
- Must be in good physical condition; able to lift over 50 pounds, stand and sit for long periods of time, etc.
- Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
- Must be able to follow instructions, take direction well and be able to adapt to changes in the operation.
- Must be a strong team player, able to take direction, willing to help out wherever necessary and have a "can do" attitude.
- Must have a strong work ethic and be able to remain busy the entire day, looking for new tasks or where else to help when your tasks are completed.
- Must be able to work well in a high volume, fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
As an important part of our hiring process, our candidates must go through a background check, in order to comply with the Department of Transportation requirements. Additionally, we do extensive drug testing including urine, breath alcohol, and invasive hair follicle testing.
