Assistant General Manager: About the Role
The Assistant General Manager supports the organization in all aspects restaurant and bar operations.
Our ideal candidate will be able to accomplish the following:
- Solid knowledge of bar operations, including scheduling, ordering spirits and wine, bar standards.
- Strong spirtis knowledge.
- Consistently maintains a positive, courteous disposition and a neat, clean, professional image.
- Works with the General Manager in setting the direction of the business in day-to-day operations as well as developing and executing a plan to drive sales, manage costs, and grow the business within the values and ethos of the company
- Runs point in nightly dining room pre-service.
- Active in nightly service, ensuring the guest experience is smooth and up to standard
- Oversight and management of dining room team, including posting for jobs, hiring, and onboarding
- Manage and distribute FOH schedule
- Balances administrative responsibilities while also satisfying the role as a leader on the service team.
- Enhances and strengthens guest relationships, established and new, maintains and builds rapport with guests.
- Promotes cooperative effort, a team spirit, good morale, and positive culture among employees
- Resolves complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner, always making sure we follow up with them when needed
- Presentation of the space and staff is maintained consistently and always exceeds standards.
- Participates in training about standardized policies (HR, fire, hygiene, health, safety, employee handbook, etc.)
- Help build and develop each member of the team to further their professional development, act as a mentor and approachable leader for all staff.
- Has a strong understanding of company background, core values, and philosophy
- Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Assistant General Manager Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years working in a full service restaurant environment
- Previous management experience is required.
- Experience with operations management, team management, and team development
- Proficient in a variety of technology systems, especially Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace
- Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and variable schedule per the needs of the business
- Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day.
