Overview:

Ultrasounds and biopsies can be scary procedures for some patients. Your skill and compassion as a sonographer will help to put patients at ease. Your sounds judgment will be used to determine imaging technique and patient treatment. Through your expertise, you will help to fulfill Legacy’s mission of making life better for others.

 

Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center in Northwest Portland is known for its specialty programs and clinical excellence. Legacy Good Samaritan features nationally renowned doctors in cancer care, kidney transplantations, neurology, ophthalmology, weight-loss surgery, robotic surgery, rehabilitation and more, plus Oregon’s only 24-hour urgent care that’s located alongside an emergency room, with access to emergency care if needed.

Responsibilities:

Performs ultrasound imaging and biopsy procedures according to physician's orders, utilizing knowledge and judgment regarding imaging technique and patient treatment.

Qualifications:

Education: 

Currently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited (by AMA or ARDMS) school of ultrasound.  Graduation from school required within six months of hire date.

 

Skills

Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

Licensure:

Licensure/Certification:

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Physics.  
  • If proof of registration in Abdomen or OB/GYN (ARDMS AB or ARDMS OB) is not received within one year of assuming the non-certified Sonographer job, the position will be vacated by the incumbent.
  • Current state license in Sonography required for all employees who perform this job in the state of Oregon. Temporary licensure is acceptable.

  • BLS Certification:  American Heart Association, Health Care provider level BLS and AED Certification required.

Pay Range: USD $42.45 - USD $60.70 /Hr. Working Conditions: Risk of exposure to blood and body fluids . Must be able to lift push pull 20 40 pounds. Must be able to distinguish colors and color shading . Risk of exposure to hazardous airborne pathogens particles Annual N95 HMR Full Face fit testing and E required .
