As a Respiratory Therapist, I provide life-saving therapeutic procedures and diagnostic tests, tailored to patients across all age groups. I am responsible for initiating, maintaining, and monitoring lifesaving devices, while also responding to emergency patient care situations. My qualifications include a state license and certifications in advanced life support, ensuring competency in the care of infants, children, adults, and geriatrics.

The Respiratory Therapist will:
  • Perform therapeutic procedures and diagnostic tests as appropriate to the ages of the patient's growth and development through the life cycle factors.
  • Initiate, maintain, and monitor all lifesaving devices.
  • Respond to all emergent patient care.


Requirements:
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved one (1) year Program in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Licensed by the State of New Jersey Board of Respiratory Care as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Demonstrated competency in all procedures within scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served; the ability to obtain information and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs; a knowledge of growth and development and an understanding of the range of treatment needed by these patients.
  • Demonstrated competency in the care and treatment of the following age groups: Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
  • BLS Certification required, as approved by the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) obtained within 30 days of start date.
  • Registered Respiratory Care Practitioners trained and assigned to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit on a regular basis is required to obtain the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
