Job Description
Description

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) is a place where team members can thrive, grow and learn as they help us provide exceptional veterinary care and client service.

PVESC is a large, growing emergency and specialty veterinary practice located in beautiful Portland, Maine.  Our specialties include emergency & critical care, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology, neurology, and cardiology.

PVESC has a current full-time day shift opening for a licensed technician or experienced veterinary assistant in our emergency and critical care department. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts, including one weekend day.  This position offers a sign-on bonus potential commensurate with experience and credentials, compensation commensurate with experience, generous weekend shift differentials, and an extensive benefits plan.  Part-time may also be considered.

We are looking for a technician with exceptional attention to detail and proficient written and oral communication skills. Are you self-motivated, compassionate, and eager to learn new skills? Then you may be the perfect fit for PVESC.  Our mentorship program within the emergency and critical care department will help you achieve your nursing goals. You will have the ability to work alongside board certified veterinarians and veterinary technician specialists in emergency and critical care.

We have a collaborative approach to leadership and decision making that allows all our teams to provide the best care for our patients. Values that guide us in patient care include compassion, kindness, respect, quality, and communication. We expand our compassion to the outside world too, giving back to the community through paid staff volunteer hours, presenting continuing education dinner events for our veterinary peers, and hosting public events such as Pet Rock in the Park, an annual outdoor pet-friendly event featuring live bands and much more.

If you want to be part of something special, do meaningful work every day, connect with an amazing high performing team and help us as we empower all of our team members to reach even higher, then we want to hear from you!
