Position Summary
Michigan State University Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Family Medicine Physician / Assistant Professor position in the Health Programs Faculty Appointment System. This unique position allows the candidate to combine clinical practice in geriatrics with teaching and/or research. Faculty in the Department of Family Medicine Geriatrics Division provide comprehensive care to geriatric patients along the continuum of care, including outpatient, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, located throughout the Greater Lansing area. Healthcare providers in the Division include physicians and nurse practitioners with a commitment to high-quality geriatric care focused on the whole individual. Faculty also teach medical students, residents, and fellows during their clinical rotations.
The ideal candidate is Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine or will just have completed an accredited residency in either specialty. Fellowship training in geriatrics or significant experience for care of older adults along the continuum of care is required. Candidates should have a strong interest in medical education, primary care or educational research, and community engagement and outreach.
The Department of Family Medicine is an active community of scholars, encompassing a range of disciplines, committed to medical education and community health. All faculty are engaged in medical education and physician faculty have opportunities to engage in research and scholarship, either independently or in collaboration with experienced research faculty. The Department collaborates with a statewide network of residency programs and health systems, including rural and underserved communities.

Required Degree
- Doctorate -Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics
Minimum Requirements
