Crozer Health Gastroenterology Associates has an exciting opportunity for a physician to join our organization at our Crozer Chester Medical Center location. This is a wonderful opportunity for a physician to work in a fast-paced setting and support a large growing practice offering tertiary level care and become a well-respected clinician in a growing health network. The physician will be responsible for a combination of endo lab scoping procedures and an in-patient consultative service; you will have numerous opportunities to treat and care for a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders in the hospital setting. Qualifications: The minimum of a doctoral degree from an accredited program, either Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, with current licensure and prescriptive authority in the State of Pennsylvania. Position: To provide excellent patient care by delivering the full range of gastrointestinal clinical services in the hospital, in-patient setting. Education/Experience: - D.O. or M.D., completion of internal medicine residency, followed by completion of gastroenterology fellowship, from an accredited institution. - Board Certified or Board Eligible Requirements: - Complete knowledge of gastroenterology diagnoses and diseases, including the full range of treatment options within the specialty. - Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills with patients, staff and other health care professionals. - Knowledge of and able to work with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. - Consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail. - This role will be shift work, with a 7 on/7 off schedule. Duties and Responsibilities: - Deliver the highest standard of care for any patient admitted to, and/or provide consultative services within, the gastroenterology service line. - Primary Focus: Providing inpatient care, specializing in the acute management of GI conditions within the hospital setting; consultant for complex GI issues for patients during their hospitalization; their role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing these conditions while collaborating with other healthcare professionals on the patient's overall care plan. - Ensure all patient EMR charting is completely accurately, expediently and timely, to ensure ongoing (or follow-up) care for the patient(s) is seamless and uninterrupted. - Coordinate care with hospitalists and other medicine specialties to address any non-related GI issues. - Maintain personal contact with patients and their relatives, during their hospital stay, with sensitivity to their needs for expedited evaluation with courtesy, dignity and privacy. - Complete any necessary communications related to consults, procedure results, pathology, etc. and provide any other specific instructions needed by the patient or their referring physician/ provider.
