We are a mid-size construction company based in Ottawa, Ontario and we are looking for a Human Resource Generalist to lead the company's HR function.
Your new role
- Communicate to internal stakeholders about human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and regulations.
- Hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Ensure effective exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations.
- Provide resolutions to employee relations issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)
- Serves as an active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Manage salary structure, position documentation, and an evaluation system.
- Recommend, develop and maintain human resource databases, computer software systems, and manual filing systems.
- Develop and provide recommendations for policies and processes.
- Plan and organize staff events and recreational activities.
- Provide general information and assistance internally and externally over the phone, electronically and in person.
What you'll need to succeed
- Ideally a certificate in human resource management but not a necessity
- A minimum of 2 years’ human resources management experience, preferably in the construction industry.
