Baird AE is seeking an ARCHITECT TECHNOLOGIST to join our team FULL TIME with a minimum of 5 years of experience to support our clients’ projects in our WINDSOR, ON LOCATION.
The Architectural Technologist will play a critical role in supporting our architectural team by developing detailed design and construction drawings, coordinating technical aspects of projects, and ensuring compliance with building codes and zoning requirements. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in architectural design, proficiency in Revit, and a demonstrated ability to produce accurate and comprehensive documentation independently or as part of a collaborative team.
Requirements
In addition to being self-motivated and driven, successful candidates will possess the following mandatory skills:
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural science, or a diploma in architectural technology
- Minimum of 5 consecutive years of proficiency in REVIT
- 5-7 years of relevant experience working on and/or managing various-sized projects through all project phases
- Technical and organizational skills, including an ability to detail and coordinate a comprehensive set of Construction Documents
- A thorough knowledge of building technology, with the ability to specify and detail appropriate components and assemblies for envelope systems in cold climates
- A fundamental understanding of the Ontario Building Code and interpretation of municipal zoning by-laws
- Experience confidently interacting with clients and consultants, excellent verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities and Duties
The Architect Technologist is responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Preparing conceptual design and presentation drawings, required for client and/or preliminary municipal approvals
- Generating and coordinating comprehensive permit/tender and construction documents including specifications
- Working independently or as part of a team on various project types, including the supervision of junior staff
- Existing condition documentation, both in field documentation and accurate drawing of such conditions
- Posses some understanding and experience of Contract Administration duties, including attending on-site meetings, responding to RFI's, issuing Contemplated Change Orders, reviewing shop drawings and performing Site Reviews
Potential candidates will be invited to an interview to review their qualifications and present a portfolio of recent projects that exemplify their contributions. Those of interest will be asked to complete a practical Revit test at our offices to confirm eligibility. We work exclusively in REVIT and expect our employees to be able to use it at a proficient level.
Salary
- CAD 60,000 - 80,000/year - Negotiable, subject to education and work experience.
