Schedule: 12-hour Night shifts on variable days, including holidays and weekends.

About the Stepdown Unit
Our Stepdown Unit at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista is a 34-bed facility focused on high-acuity patients, including those recovering from strokes, cardiac issues, and patients on critical drip protocols. This unit specializes in continuous cardiac monitoring for conditions such as myocardial infarction, chest pain, unstable angina, hypertension, diabetes, and renal failure.
Role Overview
As an RN in the Stepdown Unit, you will have the opportunity to rotate between two levels of care: step-down and med/surg/tele. You should be comfortable with cardiac rhythm interpretation, managing cardiac drips, and providing respiratory support.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Current BLS and ACLS through American Heart Association.
- Current CA RN License.
- One (1) year of recent RN experience (at least 6 months in an inpatient setting).
- Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications :
- At least six (6) months of experience in Telemetry/Stepdown RN.
- NIHSS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days from hire.
- PCCN certification.
