Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CCU - Coronary Care Discipline: RN Duration: Ongoing 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days, nights, flexible Employment Type: Staff SUMMARY OF POSITION: The RN inpatient Nurse assesses patient health problems and needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain medical records. The inpatient Registered Nurse administers nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent, or disabled patients. The RN may advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The inpatient RN will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and administer medications to patients while monitoring for reactions and side effects. The RN will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions. The cardiac special care unit (CVU/CSCU) contains 22 beds, including 18 private telemetry beds, 4 semi-private beds. The unit provides specialized monitoring and nursing care for adult cardiac and vascular patients who require specialized cardiac and/or hemodynamic monitoring. Patients include cardiac and vascular post-procedural patients (cardiac catheterizations, cardiac or peripheral stenting, ICD/ Pacemaker Surgery, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR) Fem-Pop (Femoral popliteal Bypass Surgery) Carotid Endartectomy), Angina, NSTEMI, Congestive Heart Failure, treatment of dysrhythmias (Atrial Fibrillation with RVR (rapid ventricular response) brady/tachycardias, pre-op open heart surgical patients, and post-open heart patients downgraded to a telemetry status MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S): Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact required. BLS required prior to orientation completion.
