Ensures patient care is delivered in accordance with pharmacy standards, federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and Asante’s mission, vision, and values. Consistently demonstrates compliance with all Pharmacist-in Charge requirements of the Board of Pharmacy. Consistently demonstrates compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements, including but not limited to the Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Agency, United States Pharmacopeia, and the Food and Drug Administration. Consistently demonstrates compliance with accreditation requirements, where applicable. Consistently demonstrates compliance with department/entity/system established policies. Builds positive multidisciplinary relationships through participation and collaboration with other departments and medical staff. Ensures department service is of high quality and indicates that customer expectations are understood and often exceeded. Supports and promotes programs for infection control, safety, risk management, and other organizational initiatives. Consistently identifies opportunities and works to improve resource management, service efficiency, and the patient experience. Interviews and selects appropriate staff to fulfill department needs. Oversees all aspects of pharmacist, technician, and support staff training and assessment of competency. Ensures staff have clear standards and job performance expectations. Provides mentoring and coaching to individual pharmacists, technician, and support staff, as appropriate. Provides ongoing feedback on job performance and expectations to direct reports. Coordinates staff development and career progression opportunities to meet identified needs. Assists in collection of data to demonstrate cost savings, cost avoidance, and value-added services at least quarterly. Oversees or performs inspections and audits of appropriate services or work on a regular basis and implements corrective actions as appropriate.
