This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Manufacturing Plant in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Scope:
The Production Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in the manufacturing environment. Duties include supporting plant technical teams in troubleshooting electrical issues on equipment and power distribution systems. Role will also include supporting capital projects and new installations.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities
·Understand and apply blueprints and technical diagrams.
·Work on and maintain AC and DC electrical systems from main power distribution board down to equipment level.
·Inspect and troubleshoot electrical components including transformers and circuit breakers utilizing approved tools and test devices.
·Work with safety department to ensure compliance to electrical safety regulations.
·Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
·Provide electrical assistance to other field employees such as controls techs and engineers.
·Schedule and perform work in alignment with manufacturing schedules and requirements.
·Inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components
·Perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards
·Complete required documentation of repairs and service information
·Calibrate equipment to provided specifications
·Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components
·All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
·Must have a Journeyman or Master electrician license.
·Minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial maintenance
·Experience with AC and DC power circuits, and with different voltages and phases.
·Knowledge and adherence to Electrical codes and regulations such as NFPA 70, National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, etc.
·Basic computer skills with Microsoft applications and CMMS experience
·Must have prior maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
·Good knowledge of electrical safety and strong mechanical skills
·Good knowledge of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems
·Must have ability to understand oral and written instructions in English
·Must work well in a team environment and have strong communication skills
·Must have strong critical thinking and technical troubleshooting abilities
·High sense of urgency and customer support
·Deep self-motivation and pride of craftsmanship, challenges the status quo
·Must have the ability to work extended hours while standing
·Must have good job performance and attendance records
Physical Demands:
·Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
·Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
·Must possess visual acuity to document company records
·Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.
