Facilities & Inventory Manager Job Description:
The Facilities & Inventory Manager has two primary objectives. The first is to plan, manage, and direct daily activities and logistics within the shop and grounds to support safe and efficient day-to-day operations and project execution needs. Second, this role is the primary party responsible for asset and material inventory management, tracking, and health of company owned assets. This includes but is not limited to proactive maintenance logs/reports and management of fleet vehicles, equipment, tools, and materials by tracking inventory using established inventory tracking procedures with the goal of implementing a formal inventory and asset management system.
What you’ll do as the Facilities & Inventory Manager:
- Operations Support
- Respond to project prep and execution requests
- Oversee accurate and safe loading of trailers and vehicles
- Conduct quality inspections for loading/unloading
- Maintain and audit tools, materials, and equipment
- Inventory and Asset Management
- Manage and track inventory and company assets
- Track project equipment and materials before and after use
- Coordinate asset logistics and ensure timely deliveries
- Manage vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Facilities/Shop Safety
- Ensure shop and storage areas are organized, clean, and safe
- Operate equipment and machinery safely
- Conduct inspections of received materials and tools
- Supervision & Leadership
- Manage shop personnel, providing communication, training, and feedback
- Supervise adherence to quality standards and deadlines
- Process Improvement
- Support ISO 9001 efforts and process improvements
- Conduct quality inspections using various devices and standards
- Complete required forms and documentation
What you’ll bring to the Facilities & Inventory Manager role:
- Facilities, warehouse, and/or fabrication shop management experience
- Trade school, associate's degree, or bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred
- Successful supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with budgets and department financials
- Basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical knowledge, and mechanical aptitude
- Mathematical abilities for accounting, cost analysis, determining ratios, volumes, and surface areas
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Physical ability to independently and repeatedly lift, carry, or maneuver up to 50 pounds
