Job Title: Calibration and Testing Technician

Location: San Diego, CA (On-Site 100% + Travel Required)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (C2H)


Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Calibration and Testing Technician to join our team. The primary role is to ensure the highest quality in the calibration and system-level testing of our torque sensor product line. The candidate will be involved in mechanical and electrical testing, data acquisition, and product final assembly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and calibrate torque sensor systems using electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic torsion testers.
  • Carry out production processes including demagnetization, magnetization, mechanical testing, environmental testing, and calibration.
  • Evaluate and improve sensor performance based on various parameters.
  • Operate, maintain, and upgrade major equipment and associated subsystems.
  • Work closely with engineers to acquire and analyze data, document, and optimize calibration and testing processes.
  • Perform R&D testing on new product features or configurations.
  • Physically build deliverable sensor systems, including mechanical assembly and soldering.
  • Participate in failure analyses and assist in writing detailed reports.


Requirements:

  • 2+ years of full-time work experience in a related role.
  • Background in mechanical testing and data acquisition preferred.
  • Experience with control systems, automated machinery, or data acquisition setups.
  • Strong concern for safety and quality.
  • Proficiency with LabVIEW, MTS Test Suite, or Python preferred but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong mechanical, electrical, and software skills.
  • Familiarity with wiring harness assembly protocols, adhesives, soldering, and general machine shop skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Understanding of sensor or instrumentation calibration protocols.
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred but not required.


Additional Information:

  • Must be able to interview with the team onsite.
  • Interview process includes 1-3 video interviews.
  • Willingness to undergo soldering training in L.A. during the first week of employment.
