INTERNAL MEDICINE/PEDIATRICIAN PRACTICE OPPORTUNITY Overview The Group is recruiting an Internist/Pediatrician to meet the demand by senior population for internist as well as the overall demand for an additional physician to join the practice. In 2009, over 1000 new patients were seen at the Office. This is a city of 60,000 in an immediate area of 200,000 + population. The Group comprises 30% of the local primary care medical community. Local community hospital offers a broad range of services. The Office consists of 2 full-time Family Practice physicians, 1 Physician who assists in covering for evening hours. Office practice is 40 % HMO risk patients and 60% fee for service. 1 in 5 patients seen are 65 + years of age. Significant senior population as well as family-oriented population in the area. A key component of the Office is the offering of evening hours. Evening hours are offered by all physicians in the Office. On-site services include: lab draw and ekg services. Office Practice Responsibilities include: In-office care including procedures; varies by physician lumps and bumps, colposcopys, joint injections, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy. Offer consultation services Assist in providing evening care services Custodial care - assigned one Skilled Nursing Facility Hospital practice - share call with Group's FPs & IMs; Internists round on already admitted patients during the week; they also participate in rounding on SNF patients. On weekends, FPs & IMs share call & rounding responsibilities. Weekday Call, weekend call or weekend rounding responsibilities will in total be 2-3 times per month ex. Might be 2 weekdays of Call and 1 weekend day of call . Compensation is salaried first year & thereafter 'productivity based'. Overall Group compensation has exceeded local market and national compensation levels. Practice expectations are to exceed national norms in quality, patient satisfaction, productivity and scope of practice; strong Group practice culture. Partnership consideration after 2 years in practice. The Group consists of 3 Offices with 40 physicians and 8 midlevels. Group cares for 24,000 HMO patients.
