Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room (Eyes)
Job Specialty: Operating Room Nurse (Eyes)
Job Duration: 15 weeks
Shift: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week (Day Shift)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in eye cases including cataracts, retina, oculoplastics, pediatric eyes, trauma eye cases, and call responsibilities
License: Registered Nurse
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
Must-Have:
- Ability to scrub and circulate
- LensX experience preferred
- Prior travel experience (at least 1-2 assignments)
Job Description:
- This position is focused on eye surgeries, specifically requiring experience with cataracts, retina, oculoplastics, pediatric eyes, and trauma cases, including ruptured globes.
- Must be available for call duty with specific call hours during weekdays and weekends.
- Expected to handle anywhere from 60 to 80 cases per day.
- Work will be conducted in an environment with approximately 25 operating rooms, of which 2-3 are dedicated to eye cases.
- Requires familiarity with the Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Scrubs will be provided by the facility.
- No floating expectations.
Additional Notes:
- Availability required for call shifts during the afternoon, overnight, and weekends.
- Holiday work is limited to call duties only.
