Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Keyholder to join our team at Pet Valu in Sechelt, BC. As a Keyholder, you will play a key role in ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining store appearance, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cashier and customer sales: Provide exceptional customer service, process transactions efficiently, and handle cash and credit payments.
  • Preparing merchandise orders, banking and other miscellaneous paperwork: Accurately complete tasks, manage inventory, and maintain accurate records.
  • Placing small items (under 10 lbs) including pet supplies, household items, etc. into stock in the sales area of the store: Ensure efficient restocking, maintain store appearance, and promote a positive shopping experience.
  • Sweeping, dusting and other general store maintenance functions: Maintain a clean and safe store environment, adhering to company standards and policies.
  • Assist in unloading delivery vehicles of cases and bags of pet food and supplies and putting these into stock (items up to 50 lbs.): Safely unload and restock merchandise, maintaining efficiency and productivity.
  • Effectively open and close the store while following company procedures: Ensure smooth store operations, adhere to opening/closing procedures, and maintain store security.
  • In cases where the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager are not in the store, Keyholder may assign daily goals and tasks to ACEs: Demonstrate leadership skills, prioritize tasks, and guide team members to achieve objectives.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in retail or customer service: Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service, handling cash and credit transactions, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of POS system: Familiarity with point-of-sale systems, able to accurately process transactions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Possess outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills: Demonstrate a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, building strong relationships, and promoting a positive store atmosphere.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs repetitively: Meet physical demands of the role, safely lifting and moving merchandise as required.
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule according to business needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays: Demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to work varying shifts to meet business requirements.
  • Ability to have reliable means of transportation to and from the store: Ensure timely attendance, reliability, and punctuality.
  • A valid driver's license may be required: Possess a valid driver's license, if applicable.
