Job Description: UPMC Muncy is hiring a Casual Diagnostic Technologist This role is responsible for Routine, Fluoroscopy, and procedures in the OR. You will work rotating eight-hour shifts as scheduled with a minimum average of 16 hours per period. Shifts are primarily days with evening weekend coverage as scheduled. You will be scheduled every 4th weekend 2nd shift with on-call responsibilities 3rd shift Friday and Saturday. Additional call coverage will occur when staff are on STO. \nApplicants with an interest in pursuing CT training and passing the ARRT registry a plus. \nWhether you're an experienced imaging professional or a new graduate eager to gain experience, this could be your opportunity \nApplicants will be considered at all levels of the career ladder, this includes candidates trained in CT Technologists. \nFinal candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects the level of education, experience, and manager discretion at the time of offer. \n Performs imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs various technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.Responsibilities:\n\nIdentifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. Documents patient history in electronic record as required.\nAdministers PO and rectal contrast per physician orders/department policy\nEnsures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed.\nPerforms diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures without requiring constant supervision.\nUtilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol.\nPerforms various technical procedures that require independent judgment to adjust protocols and shows initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes.\nDemonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation.\n Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from an ARRT-approved school of completion of the program and scheduled graduation date.\n Technologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date.\n CPR or BLS is Required\n CPR is required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire\n\nARRT Certificate\nBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)\nAct 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal\nAct 33 with renewal\nAct 34 with renewal\nAct 73 FBI Clearance with renewal\n\n UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
