Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Physician to join our team and provide exceptional patient care in an occupational health setting. As a key member of the center leadership team, the Physician will focus on delivering efficient, high-quality healthcare while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This role involves direct patient care, leadership responsibilities, and a commitment to ensuring exceptional clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 100% direct patient care, acting as the Primary Treating Physician (PTP) for injuries, and collaborating with therapists and specialists for optimal outcomes.
  • Lead by example in clinical care, creating an exceptional patient experience and minimizing visit times.
  • Supervise clinicians and support staff, ensuring compliance with state-specific requirements for physician assistants (PA) and nurse practitioners (NP).
  • Foster a professional and collaborative working environment that promotes teamwork, quality, and patient safety.
  • Utilize clinical systems for efficient documentation, accurate coding, charge capture, and timely follow-through on patient care orders.
  • Ensure compliance with state practice acts, rules, and workers' compensation regulations.
  • Communicate with employers on new injuries and significant clinical updates.
  • Actively participate in team meetings with the Center Manager and therapists to improve case management and patient outcomes.
  • Maintain relationships with clients and payers, responding to inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Oversee staffing levels, workflows, and patient satisfaction metrics in collaboration with leadership.
  • Support the professional growth of staff clinicians and foster a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor financial metrics and provide input for the center budget.
Requirements
Education and Credentials:
  • Graduate of an accredited medical program (M.D. or D.O.) with an unrestricted medical license in the state of employment.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in ABPM, ABFM, AOA, or another state-approved medical board.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and AED; ACLS certification preferred.
  • NRCME Certified (DOT Medical Examiner).
Experience:
  • Experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, family medicine, internal medicine or emergency medicine settings.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify key facts and propose quality solutions.
  • Excellent customer service skills, demonstrating professionalism and tact.
  • Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements, OSHA standards, and DOT regulations.
  • Proficiency in reviewing clinical work and supervising staff to meet professional standards.
  • Ability to foster a team-oriented environment and inspire high levels of productivity and morale.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and treating human injuries using evidence-based approaches.
  • Competent in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) and other basic computer applications.
