Evaluates, administers and directs administration of therapeutic utilized in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring practitioner to restore function and to prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of a body part. Helps patients reach maximum performance levels. Plans therapy involving therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training including bed mobility, transfer, and gait training. Utilizes various mechanical and electrical equipment, manual therapy, and prosthetic and orthotic devices. Evaluates, records and reports on patient progress. Establishes goals of physical therapy and re-assesses patient's progress at regular, timely intervals, supporting findings with appropriate documentation.
Qualifications
Education:
Minimum Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy.
Preferred Education: Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Experience:
Preferred Experience: One year experience in a clinical setting.
New graduates acceptable
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language.
Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment.
Licenses/Certificates:
Required licensure/registration/certification: Current Florida Physical Therapist license; BLS certification.
