Physical Therapist at our St. Louis location.
As a Physical Therapist, you will have to opportunity the connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our patients daily! You will promote the physical, personal, and emotional well-being of patients and work with the Dover Health teams to strive to reach the ultimate goal, which is to return the patient to their maximum level of self-care and independence, when possible.
As a Physical Therapist,
you will impact the lives of our patients by -
- Providing direct patient care activities to patients as directed by physician orders including assessment, treatment planning, implementation, evaluation, and instruction/supervision of physical therapy practice within the Standards of Practice for Physical Therapy, and in compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies.
- Performing the initial and/or comprehensive physical therapy evaluation visit, identifying the primary focus of care, developing an individualized plan of care in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional or interdisciplinary team, patient, family, or caregiver.
- Educating patients and their families or caregivers about managing patient's illness or injury, including home care needs, home safety, and use of assistive and adaptive devices.
- Participating in care coordination and discharge planning activities and acting as a resource to other health care personnel in meeting patient's needs.
- Participating in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Participating in professional development and lifelong learning activities.
- Supervising the PTAs.
- Performing other responsibilities as assigned
To become a Physical Therapist,
you will need - - Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy
- Current Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice
- Current Basic Life Support/CPR certification
- Current and valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current liability auto insurance.
- Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job which includes, but is not limited to seeing, speaking, touching, walking, standing, bending, reaching overhead, crouching/kneeling or crawling, as well as the ability to regularly lift/move up to 50lbs independently and up to 200lbs with assistance.
- Ability to work well with others and take direction from management, as well as take initiative - willing to go above and beyond to ensure our patients needs are met and they are comfortable in their living environment.
- Self-motivated to accomplish identified goals with a strong sense of accountability for results.
