About the area: - Living in Ontario and Wayne counties of New York offers a blend of rural charm and proximity to urban amenities. Ontario County, with its scenic Finger Lakes region, is known for its wineries, outdoor recreation, and small towns like Canandaigua. It's a peaceful area with a focus on agriculture, tourism, and nature.
- Wayne County, to the north, is similarly rural but has a stronger agricultural presence, particularly in fruit farming (notably apples). It's home to small communities such as Lyons and Newark, and offers access to Lake Ontario's waterfront. Both counties provide a slower pace of life, affordable housing, and outdoor activities, while being within driving distance of Rochester, offering more metropolitan opportunities for work, culture, and entertainment.
- Overall, the area is ideal for those who enjoy nature, community, and a quieter lifestyle but still value easy access to city conveniences.
