Description
Sonoran Sun Pediatric Therapy is seeking a highly motivated and passionate fully licensed and certified Occupational Therapist. (OT) in Arizona. This role is for a part-time Occupational Therapist.
Sonoran Sun Pediatric Therapy provides Speech Therapy (ST), Feeding Therapy (FT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT) services for patients from birth to age 20. Our setting is highly collaborative, fun, and sensory-focused. Therapists can easily incorporate movement and sensory activities into their sessions using our dynamic therapy gym and facilities, enhancing the treatment experience for our young patients.
The qualified applicant will provide individual client services and determine priority needs for occupational therapy by:
- Performing evaluations (initial) and re-assessments.
- Developing a compliant personalized care plan in accordance with guidelines, based on the client's specific goals.
- Implementing the treatment plan through direct patient care, either personally or with the assistance of aides.
- Reassessing clinical signs and symptoms to evaluate the program's effectiveness.
- Educating the patient, family, and staff on their roles in the treatment plan.
- Collaborating with COTA and other interdisciplinary team members, as needed, to enhance the treatment program.
- Submitting accurate clinical notes regarding patient evaluation and attainment of goals.
- Monitoring clients for reactions to treatment or changes in condition, discussing changes with the patient/family/caregiver and reporting changes as necessary.
- Complying with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
The qualified candidate will also: - Co-treat with other disciplines as beneficial for the client.
- Develop strategic and long-range plans for the program. May also be required to participate in case reviews, medical and school consultation staffing, and exit staffing.
- Contribute to department growth through developing and conducting in-service training programs.
- Promote knowledge of innovation in the field of pediatric Occupational Therapy by keeping advised of new medical research and treatment modalities and inspiring others to do the same.
- Be self-directed and able to work with little supervision.
- Exhibit good oral and written communication skills.
- Seek and obtain sufficient information necessary to function in a progressive clinic setting.
- Flexible yet organized with the ability to exercise independent and sound judgment.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus!
Job Type: Part-time
Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday, schedule to be based on business needs and determined upon hire
Work setting: In-person Clinic, Private Practice - Our clinic is open Mondays through Thursday from 8 AM to 6 PM and 8 AM to 5 PM on Friday

Requirements
Professional Qualifications - Master's Degree Required - Graduate of a nationally accredited Master's program in Occupational Therapy.
- License/Certification Required - OTR/L - National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCO)
- Licensed in the state of Arizona to practice.
Physical Requirements - Duties require extensive standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, sitting/playing and crouching on the floor.
- Requires lifting, positioning, and/or transferring clients, including the ability to participate in physical activities and play-based therapies.
- Frequently required to lift up to maximum of 35 pounds; May occasionally be required to lift up a maximum of 100 pounds.
Experience: - Pediatrics: 1 year ( Preferred, field work experience accepted)
- Experience in Feeding ( Preferred, field work experience accepted)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Preferred)
