Overview
Covelo Group is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our Educational Services team. If you're looking for a rewarding career meeting the unique needs of students in a school setting, this could be the role for you.
Covelo Group's expert recruiters connect qualified allied health professionals with school districts across the U.S. We don't place our applicants in just any job - we partner with you to match you with the right position to match your skills and advance your unique career goals.
Job Summary
As a school physical therapist, you will offer PT services to students with functional limitations or disabilities, according to the parameters set forth in their individual education plans (IEP). You may also be required to meet with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop IEPs for students at various schools within the district.
Your students will vary in age from grades K-12, to be determined by the school district. You may be asked to travel to multiple campuses to perform PT evaluations or provide PT services to students. You will perform professional assessments of student's physical abilities and progress, providing recommendations of PT interventions that will remove learning barriers and maximize their ability to participate fully in a school environment.
Depending on the individual needs of each student, you will provide tailored pull-out PT services to help students overcome physical limitations in order to be successful in the classroom and develop essential life skills. Services may focus on developing strength, range of motion, or balance; gait training; improving gross motor control; and/or practice using assistive devices such as a wheelchair, cane, or walker.
We are looking for a versatile PT who is willing to collaborate with a diverse group of students, educators, therapists, and administrators. Our ideal applicant is compassionate, steady under pressure, and capable of meeting the needs of students who require specialized PT support.
