About Us:

At Raytheon, the foundation of everything we do is rooted in our values and a higher calling – to help our nation and allies defend freedoms and deter aggression. We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

Do you have a passion for LO technology?

Would you enjoy working on a nationally certified ground plane range to support our nation’s security?

Are you motivated to work with little supervision?

If you answered "yes" to these questions, our mechanical design team at our Tucson, AZ, facility wants to hear from you!

Raytheon is an industry leader in Stealth Technology. We are involved in all phases of development, production, and maintenance of Low Observable (LO) weapon systems. We are currently looking for Stealth / Low Observable / Radar Cross Section (RCS) / Signature Management / Survivability Engineers to work on challenging, state of the art technical projects.

We are seeking early to mid-career Engineers to join the Signature Management & Technology Team.  This will be onsite at our Tucson location. At Raytheon, you will be part of a team whose responsibilities span the full lifecycle of the product- from initial conceptual design to modeling and analysis, from component to missile level RCS testing, and production support to maintainability.

What You Will Do

  • Stealth (design, analysis, computational electro-magnetics (CEM), and/or test)
  • Proposal Writing and Basis of Estimate (BOE) development.
  • You’re expected to perform RCS predictions and should be familiar with limitations of Computational Electromagnetic Codes (CEM).
  • Deliverables will include test documentation, data analysis, anomaly resolution, results documentation, and presentation of results to both internal and external customers.
  • You will work in integrated product teams to incorporate advanced signature control techniques into deliverable products and aid in the assessment of system performance.  Note that occasional non-standard work shifts may be expected during testing.
  • The selected individual will document all activities pertaining to test preparation, data analysis, design trades, prediction results, and others.
  • You will work within integrated product teams and support all aspects of that team’s design efforts.
  • Present results of testing, analysis, and design efforts to internal and external customers
  • Occasional travel for business, training, and conferences
  • Provide effective personal interaction and collaboration with a multi-disciplined team and customers.
  • Integrated Product Team (IPT) leadership
  • Will provide project management including the ability to identify links and potential impact on projects, programs, or systems.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Ten (10) years of engineering experience, which must include Low Observable (LO) technology or Radar Cross Section or Computational Electromagnetic Codes (CEM) or 7 years relevant experience with an advance degree.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Multiple tests of LO targets on ground plane ranges and compact ranges
  • Absorber material treatments / design and testing experience (coatings, paint, MAGRAM)
  • Academic or applied experience utilizing RF testing techniques, terminology, and test equipment
  • Understanding of electromagnetic fundamentals
  • Experience with Infrared signature analysis and control
  • Experience in the field of infrared signature technology is desirable (redundant to above?)
  • Programming expertise in C++, MATLAB, or other technical language is desirable
  • Advanced radar system development or test experience
  • Presentation skills and ability to communicate with peers, executives and customers
  • Working knowledge of computational electromagnetic codes  to include full wave codes, as well as asymptotic techniques using industry standard tools such as XPATCH, , , CARLOS, SENTRi, or (note deleted codes are not CEM, add them to a new line with different skill set
  • Advanced Degree:  Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Math or other Engineering discipline
