Located on eighty rolling acres in picturesque Rappahannock County, Virginia, Blue Rock is a new take on the classic country inn and restaurant. Breathtaking views overlooking a Koi pond set against a backdrop of vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountains create the perfect environment to have a glass of wine, delicious dinner, or throw a dream wedding.
We are seeking an energetic, friendly and highly motivated individual with a passion for hospitality for our Restaurant Manager. Blue Rock has a great deal of growth on the horizon, and we are looking for someone who embodies our vision of a dining experience and is ready to lead the business into its next chapter.
Requirements include:
- At least three years of General Manager experience. Fine dining and Michelin experience preferred.
- Enthusiasm for hospitality, attention to detail, and a constant push for guest satisfaction.
- A positive attitude towards fellow employees, and an ability to work in and foster a team environment.
- Must be highly organized, creative, and efficient.
- A love of food and beverage and desire to learn and grow.
- Flexible schedule (must be able to work weekends and holidays).
Major areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Coordinate daily Front of the House and Back of the House restaurant operations
- Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
- Respond efficiently and accurately to customer concerns
- Organize and supervise shifts, ensuring that the business is properly staffed at all times
- Track schedules and timecards for hourly FOH employees
- Hire and train staff as needed, ensuring a steady talent pipeline while evaluating performance and providing feedback to ensure their growth
- Manage the beverage program, ensuring high quality goods at a reasonable cost
- Manage ordering needs as necessary
- Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
- Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
- Track inventory for all beverages
- Develop strategies for increasing business growth, such as promoting the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events, and implement initiatives to reach a broader audience.
- Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations
- Work with the Executive Chef to ensure that business operations in the Restaurant and Tasting Room are working smoothly while planning a strategy for consistent future growth.
