POSITION: Bus DrivernnREQUIREMENTS: Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: Regular Driver's License and Clean Driving Record Pass U. S. Department of Transportation Physical Examination Safe Driving Record and meet district insurance requirements Education or Formal Training: Must meet Colorado Department of Education Route and Activity Operator's requirements Experience: Minimum of 21 years of agennPREFERRED: -2 years experience preferrednnWAGE: $14.42 - $19.25/hr.nnBENEFITS: To be discussed with employer.nnDAYS AND HOURS: Morning and afternoon routes. Will be considered a f/t employee for benefit purposes.nnDUTIES: General Purpose: To transport students to and from a variety of school sites/activities as safely as possible while passengers on the school bus. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures as outlined in the Bus Driver's Handbook and Board of Education District Policies. While operating the assigned bus, the driver ensures to the best of his/her ability the bus is in a safe operating condition Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Obeys all traffic and safety laws, rules and regulations. 2. Daily pre-trip inspections of the buss and safety equipment. Weekly inspection sheet to transportation director. All failures or damages that may jeopardize the safety and well being of students must be reported immediately to the transportation director. 3. Daily bus cleanliness: sweep floors, wash windows, empty trash. 4. Fuels bus as needed. 5. Follows district discipline policy/program. 6. Reports any needed or suspected repairs to the director of transportation 7. Availability to drive routes in case of emergency or early school release. 8. Attend transportation meetings Other Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Informs students of safe riding rules. 2. Conducts two evacuation drills per year. 3. Transports only authorized students and only discharges them at authorized stops, unless there is a written note from the parents, school, teacher or transportation director.
