The Life Science Specialists maintain effective customer relations, develop opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. This is an excellent opportunity to join our Sales teams and a company that is a world leader in their industry!nnLocation: Remote based in San Diego, CAnnKey responsibilities will be:nnSupport multiple research sales representatives by providing information specific to life science, including technical information, product recommendations for customer applications, and other life science supportnnDevelop and maintain effective customer relations with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory. Seek out broader relationships within the account to help facilitate networking and prospectingnnDevelop and implement sales strategies and plans to expand business within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectivesnnMaintain awareness and understanding of competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers. Incorporate this data into the business plannnIntroduce new products and services to customers as applicablennLead pricing within territory to control profitabilitynnMaintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for proper management of territorynnBe aware of supply and price trends and support customer inquiries and communications as requirednnPositively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locationsnnKeys to Success:nnEducationnnBachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences, M.S. or PhD preferrednnExperiencenn4+ years of sales experience, preferably in the research laboratory industry OR lab experiencennStrong technical and lab experience in molecular, protein and/or cell biologynnKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesnnExcellent knowledge in Proteomic, Genomic, Gene expression and/or tissue culturennStrong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skillsnnComputer proficiency in MS Office and the internetnnMust possess the social skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needednnStrong industry, pharmaceutical and science background preferrednnAble and willing to travel to customer locationsnnDemonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and InvolvementnnCompensation and BenefitsnnThis position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
