Vaco Denver is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our valued client in the manufacturing industry in Longmont, CO!
Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing vendor payments, resolving payment discrepancies, and adhering to company procedures to ensure proper approvals and payment processing. This role collaborates closely with the Accounts Payable Manager and the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately process vendor payables in line with company policies, ensuring proper approvals, documentation retention, and timely payment processing.
- Reconcile outgoing cash transactions and credit card charges monthly, including at month-end.
- Monitor email, mail, and voicemail for incoming invoices and vendor inquiries, responding promptly and professionally.
- Reconcile vendor statements with accounting records.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in projects related to internal controls and efficiency.
- Assist with fulfilling audit requests from external audit firms as necessary.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger, cost center, and department structures as they relate to payables.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- At least 2 years of experience in an accounting role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and deductive reasoning.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
