Job Description
Job Title: MRI Technologist
Job Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Job Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift, 4x10-Hour (20:00 - 06:30, Fri-Mon)

Experience: 2 years in relevant service line required, travel experience preferred
License: Texas Medical Board - MRT
Certifications: ARRT, ARRT (MR) preferred, Basic Life Support (BLS)
Must-Have:
- Experience across various work settings including Adult Acute Care, ICU, Outpatient, ER/Trauma, and Pediatric Care.
- Knowledge in using GE Equipment.
- Experience with Spine imaging (Cervical, Lumbar, Sacrum/Coccyx), Abdomen and Pelvis imaging, Head and Neck imaging, and Musculoskeletal imaging.
- Skills in special imaging procedures and techniques such as CINE (Cerebrospinal fluid flow study), Diffusion (non-brain), Gradient Echo Imaging, and others.
- Proficiency in charting, preferably with Altera.
Job Description:
- Participate in technical duties directly involved with the MRI, including developing, initiating, and monitoring procedures for the effective utilization of the unit.
- Prepare and/or administer contrast media and start Peripheral IVs as needed.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are adhered to and practice isolation precautions when required.
- Collaborate with management and lead teams effectively when required.
- Utilize specialized equipment like MRI Anesthesia carts and MRI-compatible IV pumps.
- Perform image post-processing procedures including Apparent diffusion coefficient mapping and Maximum intensity projection (MIP).
- Conduct Diffusion (non-brain) imaging and utilize surface coils for T-1 and T-2 weighted images.
- Participate in orientation with 16 hours required.
- Ensure compliance with safety and healthcare regulations and protocols.
- Maintain and troubleshoot MRI equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Additional Information:
- Requires living 150 miles outside of the facility location.
- Flu vaccine required with allowances for medical or religious exemptions only.
