Knollwood is seeking to add a Senior Estate Planning Attorney to its team in Baltimore, MD.



Candidate Responsibilities Include:


  • Work with internal team, outside counsel, family and clients to create estate plans, including drafting wills, trusts, durable power of attorney, and other estate planning documents.
  • Review and summarize trust and key estate planning documents.
  • Advise on and implement estate tax minimization strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Manage the administration of estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and client wishes.
  • Negotiate, prepare and finalize business transactions, including the formation of LLCs, corporations, and partnerships, and preparation of associated documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders on complex legal matters and provide high-quality legal advice to clients.
  • Manage estate admin process including working with counsel on probate matters, prep of 706, etc.
  • Advise clients on gifting strategies and rules.
  • Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations.
  • Provide exceptional client service and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Implement and manage estate planning software to assist in estate planning.


Qualifications and Requirements:


  • 7-10 years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, and/or estate administration.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through excellent communication and follow-up.
  • Strong knowledge of estate tax laws and strategies for tax minimization.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with clients and colleagues.
  • Solid understanding of key financial concepts and can communicate them effectively.
  • Thrive in collaborative environments and foster strong relationships within your team.
  • Ability to provide excellent client service and manage client relationships with professionalism.
