Director of Technology – Managed Service Provider (MSP)

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000

About the Role

As the Director of Technology , you will oversee all technical operations, including client-facing projects and internal infrastructure. You’ll lead a senior technical team, manage escalations, and ensure alignment with industry trends. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong project management, technical acumen, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Leadership:
• Mentor and coach team leaders, fostering growth and expertise.
• Develop and implement a tiering system for engineers with structured training programs.
• Maximize team efficiency and set KPIs that align with business goals.
• Technical Oversight:
• Oversee all technical infrastructure projects, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and cloud migrations.
• Guide the senior technical team in designing client solutions and handling escalations.
• Stay ahead of technology trends to ensure innovation and security.
• Process Improvement:
• Develop and implement internal documentation standards and automation initiatives.
• Conduct quality assurance on service tickets and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead onboarding assessments and standardization projects for new clients.
• Strategic Direction:
• Evaluate key issues and recommend procedure enhancements.
• Provide regular reporting on KPIs and performance metrics.
• Drive the strategic direction of technical services, ensuring SLA compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience:
• 5+ years of leadership experience in an MSP environment (required).
• Proven success as an IT Director or high-level manager.
• Technical Expertise:
• Strong background in Microsoft Azure , Azure AD , and Microsoft 365 projects .
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI Model, Windows Server/Desktop, VMware, Hyper-V, AWS, and Linux.
• Leadership Skills:
• Ability to coach and mentor teams effectively.
• Strong project management and organizational talents.
• Exceptional communication skills for team collaboration and client interactions.
• Preferred Certifications:
• CISSP, PMP, Network+, Server+, Security+.
